Executive Director

The Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority, located in Hampton, Virginia, is seeking a full time Executive Director to oversee the administration of all Authority programs and projects in accordance with operating procedures. Some of these programs include 3,194 Housing Choice Vouchers, 260 public housing units, a variety of non-public housing and commercial properties as well as new construction and redevelopment activities. A thorough knowledge of Housing and Community Development programs as well as thorough knowledge of all applicable laws, rules, and regulations is required. The qualified candidate will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree with a major in business, public administration or related field, and comprehensive experience with a Redevelopment, Housing Authority, or affordable housing provider at an executive level preferred. Comprehensive supervisory experience is required. The selected candidate will be required to live in Hampton, Virginia. Applications can be downloaded and completed with the link below. How to Apply

HRHA has approximately 70 positions in a wide variety of professions and trades. Vacant positions are advertised through local newspapers and electronic media, and are posted at the Virginia Employment Commission, other government agencies, and professional and civic organizations.

To Apply

HRHA applications for current vacancies are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the HRHA Office, 6th Floor, 1 Franklin Street, Hampton 23669. In addition to your fully completed HRHA application, resumes are welcome. If you are applying for more than one position, you must complete an application for each position.
